Investing in electronics equipment helps us to meet your needs. Here are some highlights of the equipment we recently added to our Rochester, New York facility to support high-mix SMT and PCBA manufacturing in the USA.
A contract manufacturer has to constantly re-invest in equipment to stay ahead of their customers’ needs. Here are some highlights of the equipment we recently added to our Rochester, New York facility to support high-mix manufacturing of PCB assemblies and cable assemblies in the USA. First, we installed equipment to support our growing volume of mixed technology PCBA work. We added a radial insertion machine to automate through-hole component insertion and built a new manual stuff line for additional through-hole components. The selective soldering line increases capacity and quality for mixed technology board soldering and this nitrogen generator supplies the inert environment for high quality solder joints. To optimize the workflow, we moved this wave solder machine by floating it using pneumatic lifts. Our advanced board cleaning system effectively cleans around high density components to remove solder flux. We upgraded our IC programmer yet again to stay ahead of new component types. A new conveyor reduces board handling labor between assembly and inspection. A new environmental chamber enhances our burning capabilities with environmental stress screening. For custom cable assembly, we added a second low pressure injection molder and new assembly equipment such as the semi-automated ferrule crimp press in the machine shop. we added a 3-axis mill for box builds and prototypes as well as fixtures and jigs for manufacturing. Add in things like this new state-of-the-art server to support the expanding equipment list and altogether we have more than 2 million dollars in investments over the last 24 months to support growing demand for PCB assemblies, custom cable assemblies, and box build services in the USA.
